Star anise (illicium verum) is a familiar scent to many of us who love Chinese cooking. Star anise has a distinct licorice scent that might not be the ideal scent alone, but when blended with other ingredients has an amazing impact on the overall scent. Nerikoh just wouldn’t be the same without it!

Star anise blends well with sandalwood and clove. In small amounts it enhances the scent of most resins. Personally, I don’t care for the scent in the bag, but once it’s blended with other ingredients, it elevates many blends to a whole new level.
