Palo santo (bursera graveolens) is an amazing wood from South America. It works great as an incense base, but it is also an amazingly powerful aromatic. This is a moderately coarse powder that may clump a bit during shipping.

Palo santo has a strong, distinctive scent. While it is used as an insect repellent, I find the scent absolutely magical. Unlike most woods, palo santo (“holy wood”) doesn’t develop its powerful scent until long after it has fallen from the tree. Be aware that some cats LOVE palo santo. Keep it well out of reach of any kitties in your home or it may disappear.
